I believe in food as medicine.
My interests and hobbies are broad and varied but they all boil down to health. Even as a teenager I was looking for natural ways to ease the woes of this time. That is pimples, weight loss and helping with a hangover! It wasn’t until I had my first daughter though that I started really delving into alternative therapies and alternative solutions to whatever popped up. I always find my success with my family’s health is subtle and yet profound. In that – what we do each day stops us from needing to panic if illness strikes (food choices and supplements.) I believe in food as medicine. If we ever get a cold or flu (it has been a while since this happened) I reach for the garlic and a few other natural remedies.
This year I am starting with herbal studies. I love all aspects of this modality. Herbs were our first medicine as was our food. And I can grow them in my back yard. I love to spend time in the garden with my children.
I love to read. I have a backlog of books that I have purchased over the years and because of the demands of raising young children they are waiting patiently for me to get to them.
I love a good coffee with my friends too. This is perhaps my favourite thing of all time. Good coffee and good friends make my life full and rich.
